UC Alternative, Inc., attended the 2018 National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) UI Integrity & SIDES Symposium in Houston, Texas, April 11th – 12th.
NASWA is the national organization representing all 50 state workforce agencies, D.C. and U.S. territories. These agencies deliver training, employment, career, and business services, in addition to administering the unemployment insurance, veteran reemployment, and labor market information programs. NASWA provides policy expertise, shares promising state practices, and promotes state innovation and leadership in workforce development.
The 2018 Symposium was the first major conference combining content from the UI Integrity Center and SIDES (State Information Data Exchange System). As an active SIDES participant, UCA represented the interests of our hundreds of client facilities across the country at the symposium. The symposium included plenary sessions presenting broad overviews of the UI Integrity Center and SIDES accomplishments and goals, as well as breakout sessions covering root causes of UI improper payments and best practices for handling all aspects of unemployment.
