UC Alternative, Inc., attended the 2019 State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee, April 2nd – 4th.
SIDES is a web-based system that allows secure electronic transmission of information requests from state UI agencies to employers and/or Third Party Administrators (TPAs), as well as transmission of replies containing the requested data. SIDES is managed by the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA). NASWA represents all 50 state workforce agencies, as well as Washington, DC and U.S. territories. The state workforce agencies deliver training, employment, career, and business services, in addition to administering the unemployment insurance, veteran reemployment, and labor market information programs.
As an active SIDES participant since 2016, UCA represented the interests of our hundreds of client facilities across the country at the 2019 seminar. The seminar included policy committee meetings covering Unemployment Insurance, Interstate Benefits, UI Integrity, and Technology. Workshops and break-out sessions covered BTQ (Benefits Timeliness and Quality), an in-depth look at Separations, Employer Outreach, UI Integrity, and State Claim Processing. The Seminar closed with a look toward the future of SIDES and new technologies. UCA is excited to be part of that future and will continue to ensure that our client facilities are part of that future as well.
